Covenant Health seeks a Coder Analyst Specialist to join Covenant Medical Group in East Tennessee. You will analyze medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes in collaboration with providers to support accurate billing.

The role requires three years of coding experience and certification such as CPC or RHIT, with a focus on compliance, data integrity, and timely billing in a busy clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of extensive diagnosis and procedural coding experience required.
• CPC certification or RHIT certification is required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Reviews documentation in the medical record to determine ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding needed for billing.
• Verifies data in the medical record and abstracts information for charge entry.
• Utilizes CPT-4 and ICD-10 standards to assign principal procedures and related diagnoses.
• Edits unbilled claim transmission reports daily to ensure timely billing.
• Participates in quality coding and audit reviews for each provider.
• Assists providers with coding questions and coordinates with the CDI supervisor for research.
• Contacts physicians for clarification and medical necessity; ensures accurate documentation.
• Liaises between practice specialty and insurer for benefit determination and claim resubmissions.
