Job summary

Covenant Medical Group is seeking a Coder Analyst to review medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes in collaboration with providers. You will help ensure accurate coding for billing and reimbursement, supporting the Billing Department and maintaining data for reporting.

Minimum one year of coding experience or equivalent training is preferred; high school diploma or GED accepted. Prior coding experience in a medical setting is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for physician services is preferred.
• One year of coding experience or completed billing/coding training is required.
• Strong understanding of coding guidelines and payer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes.
• Abstract data from records and ensure accurate charge entry.
• Collaborate with providers to select correct principal procedures and diagnoses.
• Support Billing Department with timely submission and rebilling when needed.
• Assist other coders and respond to coding questions to ensure compliance.
