Job summary

Terros Health in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Revenue Cycle Medical Coder to support the Revenue Cycle Management Department with coding and billing review, best practices, and policy setting. The role reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of coding and billing experience, CPC/CCS/RHIT certification, knowledge of NextGen or similar EHR, and strong Excel skills. This is an in-office, day-shift position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certification in medical coding and billing, CPC, CCS, RHIT required
• 5+ years’ experience in a coding and billing position
• Demonstrated knowledge of NextGen or similar EHR
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience interacting with cross functional partners, external payers and stakeholders
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal
• This role is a non-driving position at one location with no travel

Responsibilities

• Ensuring procedural and diagnosis codes are assigned correctly and sequenced per regulations
• Reviewing claims and configuration to ensure coding guidelines and best practices
• Reviewing patient charts, claims, and policies to verify billable services
• Training and support to claims team members and practitioners on billing procedures and coding requirements
• Recommending and implementing coding review protocols and code modifications
• Completing overarching coding practice evaluations
• Collaborating with Compliance and Contracting teams
• Staying up to date on coding requirements and best practices
