Job summary

Terros Health is seeking a Revenue Cycle Medical Coder to support the RCM department in coding and billing review at a central Phoenix location. The role requires High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred), CPC/CCS/RHIT certification, and 5+ years of coding experience. Strong Excel skills and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certification in medical coding and billing (CPC, CCS, RHIT) required.
• 5+ years’ experience in coding and billing.
• Knowledge of NextGen or similar EHR systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Non-driving position; in one location; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure procedural and diagnosis codes are assigned correctly and sequenced per regulations.
• Review claims and configuration to ensure coding guideline compliance.
• Review patient charts and policies to verify billable services.
• Provide training and support to claims team and practitioners on billing procedures.
• Recommend and implement coding review protocols and code modifications.
• Perform overarching coding practice evaluations.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Contracting teams.
• Stay up to date on coding requirements and best practices; attend external trainings.
