Job summary

DaMar Staffing has a full-time opportunity for a Healthcare Coder (CPC/CCS-P) to translate clinical documentation into accurate ICD and CPT codes and to support compliant billing practices.

The role involves reviewing provider documentation, applying coding guidelines, auditing E/M levels, and communicating with physicians to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Epic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HCPCS, ICD-10, CPT guidelines and medical terminology
• Ability to read/analyze itemized billing statements and medical records
• Critical thinking to conduct Opportunity Assessments
• Detail-oriented and team-focused work style
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; LastWord/GroupWise helpful

Responsibilities

• Translate providers' documentation into coded form per guidelines
• Review patient reports to apply ICD and CPT codes for billing, reporting, research and compliance
• Apply appropriate ICD/CPT codes using coding principles and E/M knowledge
• Communicate with physicians to ensure accurate reflection of care
• Educate providers on CMS regulations, coding, billing, and documentation guidelines
• Code at productivity and quality rate per organizational standards
• Analyze denial trends to ensure compliance and revenue protection
• Maintain current knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM; disseminate updates
