Puyallup Tribal Health Authority in Tacoma, WA seeks a detail-oriented Medical Coder (CPC/CCS) to join the on-site Patient Accounts team, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Your role focuses on accurate coding, billing compliance, and timely submissions to support high-quality patient care.

You will review EMRs for E/M, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding, verify medical necessity, and educate providers to improve documentation and reimbursement.

Formación

• Certified CPC/CCS credentials required.
• Minimum of three years of recent medical coding experience.
• Experience with EMR/EHR and practice management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsabilidades

• Review EMRs to ensure documentation supports E/M, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Verify medical necessity, modifiers, and payer information before billing.
• Educate providers to improve coding accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, Patient Accounts, and IT to resolve issues.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and industry updates.
