Job summary

JumpStart Games seeks an experienced medical coder to join our team in Lakeland, FL. You will review and code physician and nurse documentation, ensure accuracy of charges, and maintain compliance with billing guidelines.

The role requires CPC/COC certification, ICD-10 proficiency, and at least five years of medical coding experience. You will work with MedAptus and ETM systems and collaborate with providers and staff to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with CPC/COC certification.
• 5+ years of medical coding experience with strong terminology knowledge.
• ICD-10 proficiency and awareness of carrier guidelines required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize workflow to maintain a high output of accurate work.
• Review physician and nurse documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Edit charges and modifiers using established coding guidelines.
• Review MedAptus charges daily and ensure completeness.
• Communicate coding changes to physician offices and staff.
• Monitor uncharged encounters and follow up on missing charges.
• Stay current on coding issues by attending seminars and applying guidelines.
