Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Certification: CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT required.
• 5+ years of coding experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT; complex coding scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to medical records with advanced proficiency.
• Lead and conduct internal audits of medical records and coding work.
• Analyze clinical documentation with physicians to clarify and enhance coding.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve coding questions and discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations and HIPAA.
• Generate advanced coding reports and summaries for improvement.
• Mentor and train junior coders in coding best practices.
• Demonstrate proficiency in coding software and EHR systems.
