Job summary

Sentara Health in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care for first shift. The role assists the Team Coordinator with daily operations, ensures quality and service, and supports regulatory compliance through technical coding expertise.

Requirements include 2 years of coding experience and CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certifications; a high school diploma is required. Virginia or North Carolina remote work is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years coding experience and CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required.
• 1 year Health Information Management experience preferred.
• Virginia or North Carolina Remote preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the Team Coordinator/Manager in daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, and in meeting regulatory requirements through providing technical expertise.
• Serve as technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement activities, staff development activities and daily support to team members.
• Assist Team Coordinator/Manager in facilitating and monitoring the work processes of a designated team.
