Job summary

Sentara Health in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care to support daily operations and ensure regulatory compliance within the HIM team. The role requires 2 years of coding experience and relevant certifications (CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC).

Qualifications

2 years coding experience required.
CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required.
1 year Health Information Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists the Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, and regulatory requirements.
Serves as technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement activities, staff development activities and daily support to team members.
Assists Team Coordinator/Manager in facilitating and monitoring the work process(s) of a designated team.
