Sentara Health is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care in Charlottesville, VA. The role supports daily operations, quality assurance, and coordination of work within the HIM coding team, ensuring regulatory compliance and service excellence.

The position requires 2 years of coding experience and CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s). Remote work is preferred in Virginia or North Carolina with competitive benefits and a comprehensive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Coding experience required
• CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required
• 1 year Health Information Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists the Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, and meeting regulatory requirements
• Supports quality control and staff development activities
• Monitors work processes for designated team
