Job summary

Tufts Medicine outpatient clinics are seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow, assist clinicians, and document care in the electronic medical record. This role emphasizes clinical support, patient interaction, and efficient, accurate data entry.

The position requires a high school diploma, MA certification, and BLS. A minimum of three years’ MA experience is preferred, with opportunities to mentor staff and engage in quality improvement within a busy outpatient environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant national certification required (AAMA/AMCA/AMT/NCCT/NHA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 3 months.
• Minimum of 3 years Medical Assistant experience.
• Internal MA Instructor staff: national certification by specified date if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow and room readiness to optimize provider time.
• Assist with patient visits, vitals, and specimen collection.
• Document accurate patient information and support electronic medical records.
• Provide clinical and administrative support and coordinate referrals and billing as needed.
• Supervise and train entry level staff when required.
