Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, TN seeks a Medical Assistant to provide patient care in a physician office under the direction of a provider and to mentor Level I Medical Assistants in the same office.

You will perform clerical tasks, collect patient data, assist with exams, administer medications and vaccines, prepare rooms, maintain infection control, and educate patients under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred or equivalent training.
• 3–5 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively assists patients throughout visits and accompanies them to exam rooms.
• Handles scheduling, lab callbacks, prior authorizations, and manages patient paperwork.
• Records patient data including vitals and medical history; assists with examinations.
• May assist with physical examination preparations.
• Performs EKGs, wound care, and dressing changes as directed.
• Collects specimens and prepares them for lab analysis.
• Administers medications and immunizations as directed by a physician.
• May renew prescriptions as authorized.
• Maintains infection control and prepares rooms between visits.
• Orders and stocks supplies for exams and procedures.
• Provides patient education under supervision.
