Job summary

Qualifications

• To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of Medical Assistant Experience in a faculty group practice or hospital setting.
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary trainer for new hires.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Measures and records patient vital signs.
• Obtains and processes blood samples as per policy.
• Supports quality initiatives by following guidelines for EMR data entry.
• Promotes a positive patient experience.
• Communicates effectively with providers and administrative staff.
• Answers phone calls and reviews in-basket messages.
• Follows up on prescription refill requests.
• Performs other duties as needed.
• Maintains patient privacy per HIPAA standards.
• Assists with scheduling and patient flow objectives.
