Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Bethpage location. The role involves assisting physicians and nurses in patient care, maintaining patient flow, taking vitals, EKGs, and phlebotomy assistance as needed, and ensuring exam rooms are ready for the next patient.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or MA program completion (or 2 years MA experience) and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses in patient care tasks.
• Maintain patient flow and assist with escorting patients.
• Obtain vitals, weights, and ECGs as needed; assist with blood collection when required.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms; assist with housekeeping and comfort measures.
• Assist with scheduling and prescription renewals; complete patient charges per policy.
• Stock exam and treatment rooms with supplies and forms.
• Train new Medical Assistants and support administrative duties.
