Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to support physicians and nurses with advanced clinical tasks and accurate EMR documentation. This role includes preceptor duties and training new Medical Assistants in the department.

The Sr. MA will perform examinations, assist with procedures, patient care, and ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and NCQA guidelines while maintaining high-quality service for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to perform advanced patient care tasks under physician or RN supervision.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and staff.
• Proficient in EMR documentation and computer use.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examinations, procedures, and dressing changes.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify eligibility for care.
• Provide preceptor and clinical resource support to other Medical Assistants.
