Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to provide expert support across examinations, treatments and delegated MA tasks under physician or RN supervision. The role includes handling EMR super-user duties, scheduling and ensuring medical necessity compliance, and training other Medical Assistants.

The Sr. MA will contribute to high-quality patient care, participate in preceptorship, and maintain current certifications, while upholding CLIA, HIPAA and NCQA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; professional licensure per MA standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures and dressing changes.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify medical necessity for care.
• Provide preceptor/clinical resource support to Medical Assistants.
