Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to perform advanced medical assisting tasks under physician and/or RN supervision. This role emphasizes high-quality patient care, including examinations, procedures, and dressing changes.

The Sr. MA will also schedule appointments, verify eligibility, ensure CLIA/HIPAA compliance, and act as a preceptor and clinical resource for medical staff, while maintaining EMR proficiency and accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five years medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and BLS required.
• English language proficiency and HIPAA/CLIA compliance knowledge.
• Strong teamwork and patient-centered care mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and dressing changes.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify eligibility for care.
