Job summary

Mercer seeks a seasoned health actuarial leader to guide a government health actuaries team across in-person and client-facing engagements. Based in Phoenix, Atlanta, or Minneapolis, you will oversee rate development, policy impact analyses, and multi-state Medicaid work with clinicians and consultants.

You will mentor actuaries, drive project delivery, and support new business pursuits while ensuring compliance with federal standards and actuarial guidance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required; actuarial credentials strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of health actuarial experience with 10+ Medicaid actuarial experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and client-facing engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of actuaries, data analysts, clinicians and consultants on Medicaid rate setting.
• Define project scope with clients and ensure regulatory and actuarial standards adherence.
• Oversee actuarial rate development and client guidance across projects.
• Collaborate with clients to finalize work products and educate on policy impacts.
• Mentor actuarial staff and support business pursuits and proposals.
