Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) seeks a Mechatronics Development Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering autonomous kits for off-road industrial vehicles.

You will guide mechanical, electrical, and software integration, drive design reviews, and ensure manufacturability and field readiness. The role emphasizes mentoring engineers, coordinating cross-functional work, and maintaining milestones within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years as a Mechatronics/Robotics/Engineering contributor.
• 5+ years leading mechatronics teams.
• Broad mechatronics knowledge: mechanical, electrical, control, embedded software.
• Proficient in CAD tools (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) and simulations.
• Embedded software experience with C/C++.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture and CAN.
• Experience with Agile or similar PM methodologies.
• Strong cross-disciplinary communication and PM skills.
• Experience in robotics/automation for off-road equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a manager and mentor for engineers on policies, procedures, and technical issues related to mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of the mechatronics development team supporting ADT and water truck platforms.
• Hold the team to industry best practices and ASI standards for mechatronics development, from concept through field support.
• Own integration across mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems so vehicle kits operate as one system.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability, performance, cost, reliability, and serviceability.
• Establish functional requirements and design specifications, then review proposed solutions.
• Partner with vehicle integration, autonomy software, and field teams to resolve issues during commissioning and deployments.
• Track project scope, schedule, and budget, and elevate risk to leadership before it reaches the customer.
• Grow the engineers on your team through feedback and deliberate assignment of work.
