Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Mechatronic group to act as a technical specialist in developing new product ideas, concepts, and improvements.

You will ensure designs align with organizational objectives and coordinate between Product Management, Solution/System Architects, Mechanical, Electrical and Software teams to translate stakeholder requirements into system-level specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in requirements elicitation or related engineering tasks.
• Familiarity with product development lifecycle for complex systems.
• Exposure to autonomous systems or robotics preferred.
• Basic understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Foundational knowledge of design principles and hardware development.
• Strong communication and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.
• Experience with requirement management tools such as IBM Doors, Jama Connect, Polarion, or other requirement management software.
• Experience with safety analysis such as HARAs, STPAs, FMEAs, and others.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering and processing stakeholder goals and KPIs under supervision.
• Support translation of product goals into basic system requirements.
• Help generate interface control documents for subsystem interactions.
• Specify functional and non-functional requirements in subsystem specification documents.
• Participate in conceptual design and documentation processes.
• Support analyzing impact when there are changes to stakeholder requirements.
• Assist Safety Engineers in analyzing systems/subsystems to mitigate risk exposure.
• Assist in design reviews and ensure traceability of requirements.
• Support development of verification and acceptance test cases.
• Help review test plans and procedures for alignment with requirements.
• Provide input for workflow optimization and risk management tools.
• Participate in proposal inputs and customer meetings as needed.
