Job summary

Mycronic USA is seeking a Senior Semiconductor Equipment Engineer (Mechanical) to lead design, development, and continuous improvement of automated plasma equipment for the semiconductor industry. You will collaborate with electrical, controls, software, and process teams to deliver high-precision, reliable systems and support field installations globally.

The role requires a strong background in mechatronics with hands-on leadership, mentoring, and travel.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in mechatronics or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical tool design experience in semiconductor/precision equipment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T, and Microsoft Project.
• Knowledge of ISO/CE/UL/SEMI/NFPA cleanliness and safety standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Experience mentoring engineers and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering development for turnkey plasma equipment from concept through launch.
• Design and integrate mechanical and mechatronic systems for automated plasma tools.
• Develop detailed mechanical designs and docs using SolidWorks; apply GD&T.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, software, and process teams to integrate subsystems.
• Plan and execute equipment testing, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Apply FMEA and structured problem-solving to improve reliability.
• Manage project schedules, resources, and cross-functional coordination.
• Work with sales, service, and process teams to address customer requirements and field feedback.
• Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites worldwide.
