Job summary

Mycronic is seeking an experienced Manager, R&D Engineering to lead Surfx Mycronic's plasma technology initiatives within the Global Technologies division. You will guide the full lifecycle from concept to production, delivering reliable, scalable products for semiconductor manufacturing and collaborating with cross‑functional teams across the globe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or related field.
• 8+ years leading engineering teams on multidisciplinary projects.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with electromechanical systems or capital equipment, preferably in semiconductor/high-tech manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of system design, integration, documentation, and change management.
• Experience collaborating with commercial/manufacturing teams, including international partners in Asia.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the R&D Engineering team with clear priorities and hands-on guidance.
• Establish technical ownership, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation across product development and sustaining engineering.
• Partner with executive leadership and Product Management to translate priorities into structured programs.
• Lead design, prototyping, testing, and productization of plasma engines and subsystems.
• Ensure performance meets semiconductor process requirements and supports commercial viability.
• Direct architecture and integration of complete semiconductor production systems.
• Translate requirements into system specs and verification plans, maintaining ownership throughout development.
• Drive design reviews, DOE, FMEA, DFM/DFS, and reliability engineering processes.
• Strengthen requirements management, configuration control, and technical documentation.
