Job summary

Whisper Aero is seeking a Senior Mechanical Test Engineer to work onsite in Crossville, Tennessee, supporting development and testing of electric propulsors. You will design experiments, build ground test rigs, implement instrumentation systems, and analyze data to drive innovation.

The candidate should have a strong background in instrumentation, electronics, and software tools for automation; extensive experience in ground testing and test data analysis is required. U.S.

Qualifications

• MS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with 4+ years of ground testing; PhD with 2+ years; BS with 10+ years related experience.
• Expertise in instrumentation, electronics, strain gauges, load cells, amplifiers, signal conditioners.
• Proficiency with DAQ software and programming; CAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and execute static strain, modal analysis, radiated sound power, and propulsor characterization tests.
• Select and troubleshoot instrumentation; collect and process data with DAQ systems.
• Build test rigs for load measurement and aerodynamics; post‑process large data sets with MATLAB and Python; lead test readiness reviews.
