Job summary

Whisper Aero seeks a hands-on Head of Ground Test to lead the team, resources, and processes behind our electric propulsion testing. You will manage 12 engineers and technicians, own the test strategy, and deliver accurate results for customers.

Responsibilities include leading propulsor development and qualification testing, planning, hazard analysis, and reporting, while driving safety, quality, and collaboration with engineering and customers. U.S. work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD with extensive test experience in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering, physics, or related fields.
• 5+ years leading and developing test engineers and technicians.
• Hands-on experience with rotating machinery, propulsion, or electromechanical systems.
• Strong instrumentation, data acquisition, and signal analysis capabilities, including FFT and modal analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of test engineers and technicians.
• Own test strategy, plans, and readiness reviews across programs.
• Manage test scope, budgets, schedules, and reporting.
• Drive test capability investments and automation with Python/MATLAB.
