Job summary

WSP is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Technician to support Fort Meade Army Base, MD, with mechanical design and production responsibilities from concept through construction.

The role requires 11+ years of experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams on complex mechanical projects. Based in the Fort Meade area, the position involves developing plans, performing calculations, and ensuring compliance with UFC/SpecsIntact standards, while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• HS Diploma; Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Strong AutoCAD design software proficiency.
• 11+ years of experience preparing mechanical engineering design plans.
• US Government Secret clearance required; US citizenship required.
• Working knowledge of building and infrastructure design and construction management.
• Familiarity with UFC system and SpecsIntact is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design and production support from project inception through construction.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Trace 3D Plus to solve technical problems.
• Coordinate with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
• Develop construction plans, specs, and phasing plans.
• Ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance throughout project work.
• Prepare technical reports and visualizations for presentations.
