Job summary

WSP is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Technician to support mechanical design and production efforts at Fort Meade, MD. You will contribute from project inception through construction, applying advanced analytical techniques and coordinating with owners, engineers, and clients.

The role requires 11+ years of experience, a mechanical engineering background, and US citizenship with a Secret clearance. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Trace 3D Plus is essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent preferred.
• 11+ years of experience with preparing Mechanical Engineering design plans.
• US Government-issued Secret clearance required and ability to maintain clearance; US citizenship required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and design software.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Trace 3D Plus to solve engineering problems.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, safety and phasing plans, and updated building layouts with coordination.
• Ensure compliance with applicable rules, standards and construction or operating permits.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
