Infleqtion seeks a Mechanical Systems IPT Lead to drive cross-disciplinary, flight-relevant mechanical work for a quantum technology program. You will own the path from concept through CAD, analysis, drawings, and build support, coordinating with AI&T, quality, procurement, and suppliers.

The role requires deep aerospace or precision instrumentation experience, strong mechanical judgment, and the ability to lead engineers through design trades and reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in mechanical engineering for aerospace, precision instrumentation, opto-mechanical, vacuum, or electromechanical systems.
• Aerospace hardware experience on flight or high-reliability hardware required.
• Experience leading cross-functional mechanical design closure from requirements to drawings.
• Strong CAD and data management in SolidWorks and PLM workflows.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and vendor communications.
• Ability to communicate with physicists, optical engineers, and manufacturing teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead the mechanical systems IPT for opto-mechanical assemblies and interfaces.
• Drive closure of requirements, margins, drawings, and design-review gates.
• Coordinate with subsystem IPTs, AI&T, quality, procurement and suppliers.
• Lead design reviews and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Ensure designs meet alignment, vacuum, thermal, vibration, and serviceability constraints.
• Guide tolerance strategies, DFMA, materials choices, and configuration control.
• Mentor mechanical engineers and provide clear technical direction.
