Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of aircraft mechanical systems for a Massed Modular Aircraft program. You will own the mechanical systems design approach from concept through qualification and production, focusing on modularity, producibility, and design-for-mass-manufacture principles to support high-rate, distributed production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of aircraft mechanical systems design experience.
• Experience with landing gear, brakes, doors/mechanisms, or actuation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and integration of aircraft mechanical systems (wheels/brakes, doors, actuation).
• Define modular mechanical architecture with common interfaces and interchangeable subassemblies.
• Perform system trade studies balancing performance, weight, cost, and producibility.
