Job summary

Infleqtion, Inc. is seeking a system-level mechanical engineer to design the QGG sensor head, mounting, and environmental survivability architecture for laboratory, terrestrial, and space environments.

You will collaborate across mechanical, optical, electrical, and systems teams to ensure precision under launch, transport, and microgravity testing conditions. The role requires hands-on design, analysis, and leadership to deliver robust hardware, with opportunities to interface with customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 6+ years in precision mechanical, opto-mechanical, aerospace, or high-reliability hardware roles.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD and simulations.
• Experience with tolerance analysis and design-for-manufacture/test.

Responsibilities

• Design the QGG sensor head and mounting hardware for development, terrestrial, and space use.
• Present progress, risks, decisions, and test results to management and customers.
• Lead modeling, simulation, analysis, and test-correlation for performance.
• Oversee mechanical integration with optical, electrical, vacuum, thermal interfaces.
• Identify and manage key suppliers for precision parts and hardware.
• Support product lifecycle processes, design reviews, configuration control, and test readiness.
• Develop risk-management plans and support reliability analyses.
• Mentor junior engineers in design-for-manufacturability and drawing quality.
• Perform other duties as needed.
