Job summary

Infleqtion is seeking a Mechanical Systems IPT Lead to drive the opto-mechanical, thermal, and structural scope for its QGG program. You will turn cross-disciplinary ambiguity into defined mechanical products ready for build, with emphasis on precision alignment, vacuum integrity, and high reliability hardware.

The role requires a strong aerospace background, CAD/PLM fluency, and demonstrated leadership in design closure from requirements through released drawings and build support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in aerospace/precision instrumentation environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional mechanical design closure from requirements to released drawings.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD with PLM release workflows.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFMA, and vendor communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical systems IPT for opto-mechanical assemblies and interfaces.
• Drive closure of requirements, margins, and drawing packages across teams.
• Coordinate with subsystem IPTs, AI&T, quality, procurement and suppliers.
• Lead design reviews, manufacturing readiness, and technical closure meetings.
• Ensure compatibility with alignment, vacuum, thermal, and serviceability constraints.
• Mentor engineers and provide clear direction without overfragmenting ownership.
• Support program planning with credible ETC/EAC inputs and recovery plans.
