Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to shape lunar technologies and missions. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, the role can be onsite or remote, with opportunities to influence architectures for NASA and commercial customers.

You will define mission concepts, perform trade studies, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance spacecraft systems while aligning with the company's technology roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5–10 years of related experience.
• Experience developing complex mechanical systems at scale.
• Experience performing preliminary structural analysis of space systems.
• Experience in space system development, systems engineering, or structure/thermal design.
• Experience creating technical content for proposals and customer presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review lunar lander, rover, surface power systems, and spacecraft designs.
• Support mission opportunities and internal development programs with technical content.
• Conduct system-level analysis and first-order sizing of space systems.
• Create spacecraft configurations in CAD and perform preliminary structural analyses.
• Design spacecraft structures for lunar landers, orbiters, and rovers.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to ensure designs meet mission and business needs.
