Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to shape the future of lunar technologies and missions. You will define end-to-end mission concepts for NASA, government, and commercial customers, influencing architectures for lunar landers and surface systems.

This role is based in Pittsburgh, PA and can be onsite or remote, offering a path to advanced programs and a chance to impact space exploration in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and 5–10 years of experience.
• Experience developing complex mechanical systems at scale.
• Experience conducting preliminary structural analysis of space systems.
• Experience in space system development, systems engineering, structure/thermal design and analysis, mechanical & fluid systems, or manufacturing.
• Experience authoring proposals and external customer presentations.
• Experience decomposing mission and system-level requirements.
• Strong understanding of launch, space, and lunar environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft designs.
• Support development of mission opportunities and internal programs.
• Perform system-level analysis and first-order sizing of space systems.
• Develop spacecraft configurations in CAD and perform initial structural analyses.
• Design and assess spacecraft structures for lunar landers, orbiters, and rovers.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to ensure solutions meet roadmaps and needs.
• Translate customer requirements into actionable product goals for proposals.
