Job summary

Durb? Duke Energy seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to serve as the primary Mechanical System Owner for Citrus Combined Cycle Station. This role ensures safe, reliable operation through lifecycle planning, outages support, and rigorous problem-solving.

The engineer will lead maintenance strategies, support capital projects, and coordinate with Operations, OEMs, and safety teams to meet environmental and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or PE.
• 5+ years engineering experience or 6+ years with PE.
• Master's degree in Engineering may substitute for BS.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage mechanical systems and equipment, including condition, performance, reliability, and long-range planning.
• Monitor system health via operating data, PI trends, maintenance history and evaluations.
• Lead root-cause analyses, corrective actions, and incident resolution for complex issues.
• Develop maintenance, replacement, upgrade, and spare-part strategies with Operations and Maintenance.
• Provide engineering leadership for outages, including scoping, inspection, contractor coordination, and post-outage follow-up.
• Manage capital and O&M projects with business cases, estimates, schedules, specs, procurement, execution and closeout.
• Maintain configuration control for drawings, calculations, records, and asset data; support Maximo-based work management.
• Support plant health, asset risk, budgeting, and portfolio development; coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
