Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an experienced Lead I&C Engineer to manage technical aspects across project planning and execution for new generating facilities. You will oversee Emerson DCS procurement, control logic, and commissioning activities, guiding a matrixed team of engineers and staff.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, with on-site and remote collaboration, and a focus on system-wide integration and long-term reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have a BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited program and/or PE; 8+ years engineering experience.
• Must have Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• A master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Specify and procure Emerson DCS equipment.
• Develop and review control logic and graphics.
• Lead hardware and software factory acceptance testing.
• Support development phase of major project scope and EPC bid package.
• Support interconnection design with Transmission and ensure contracts align with scope.
• Assist in cost estimates, scheduling, risk analysis, and bid evaluation.
