Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead commercial mechanical construction projects in Sterling, VA and the surrounding DMV region. This field‑leadership role oversees mobilization through completion, leads field teams, coordinates labor and materials, and ensures HVAC and plumbing installations meet VMG's standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong field execution and ownership of project objectives, serving as the Project

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of commercial mechanical construction experience.
• Experience leading field teams on large commercial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, and specs.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily mechanical field operations and oversee crew performance.
• Direct installation of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and site access.
• Review drawings, specs, schedules, and project requirements.
• Identify field conflicts and implement practical solutions.
• Track progress and keep work on schedule.
• Support inspections, testing, commissioning, punch lists and closeout.
• Maintain daily reports and project documentation.
