Job summary

DEPCOM Power is seeking a Subcontract Manager - Mechanical in Scottsdale, AZ to oversee mechanical subcontracting across our portfolio. This role includes scope development, bid evaluation, and negotiations while ensuring alignment with project estimates. The position is on-site and not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

You will join a small discipline management group, work with project managers and engineers, and help shape our strategy for mechanical procurement and risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience negotiating commercial terms, pricing or change orders with contractors.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Experience developing or evaluating mechanical scopes of work and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate mechanical scopes of work and identify gaps before award.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids, pricing and execution capability, and provide award recommendations.
• Lead commercial negotiations with mechanical subcontractors on scope, terms, pricing and change orders.
• Own and develop relationships with mechanical subcontractors as the primary contact.
• Identify and qualify new mechanical contractors and maintain a capable partner base.
• Monitor work concentration across the mechanical partner base.
• Support subcontract vs self-perform strategy for projects.
• Provide market intelligence on contractor capability, capacity and pricing.
• Escalate high-risk commercial and contractual matters to the Director of Subcontracts.
