Job summary

Arcfield is seeking a Mechanical/Structural Engineer to perform hostile environment system qualification analyses. The role spans CAD development to structural response assessment using engineering simulation software, with MATLAB/Python aiding finite element model development.

Responsibilities include building CAD models, applying theoretical principles, generating meshes for FEA, and presenting results to customers.

Qualifications

• BS 5-7 years, MS 3-5 years or PhD 0-2 years in Mechanical, Aerospace or Physics (shock physics).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Willing to travel to meeting forums and customer sites.
• Experience with FEA (Abaqus preferred) and mesh development tools.

Responsibilities

• Build CAD models of complex systems.
• Determine theoretical principles for applications and assessments.
• Utilize advanced methods for system-level structural response.
• Generate meshes for FEA and perform analyses.
• Document and present results to customers; provide recommendations.
• Travel to customer sites for technical interchanges.
