Job summary

Thayer, LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Services Project Manager to lead commercial HVAC projects from handoff through completion. You will coordinate with sales, service operations, and field leadership to translate commitments into executable plans and ensure profitability.

The role requires strong financial discipline, leadership, and the ability to manage budgets, labor, and subcontractors while maintaining safety and quality across occupied facilities and retrofit projects.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of project management experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical services.
• Strong financial and budgeting discipline with profitability focus.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specs, and contracts clearly.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects, schedules, and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication with customers, field teams, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from handoff through closeout and ensure safety, schedule, and quality.
• Coordinate with sales and estimating to confirm scope and constructability.
• Own project financial performance, budgets, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Plan schedules and allocate field resources to minimize operational disruption.
• Manage purchasing, logistics, and vendor commitments for on-time delivery.
• Control scope, document changes, and secure approvals for extra work.
• Maintain thorough project documentation and progress reporting.
• Communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders throughout the project.
• Enforce safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
