Job summary

Thayer LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Services Project Manager to lead commercial HVAC and mechanical projects from sales handoff through successful completion.

You will translate customer commitments into executable plans, manage budgets and labor productivity, coordinate with field leadership, and ensure on‑time, within‑scope project delivery while maintaining profitability.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of PM experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical services
• Financial management including budgets and cost forecasting
• Understanding of mechanical systems, construction sequencing, and field execution
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specs, estimates, and contracts
• Experience managing multiple projects with schedules, procurement, and change orders
• Strong communication and leadership to align customers, field teams, and leadership
• Proficiency with Excel and construction accounting software
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to sites

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from handoff through closeout and ensure safety, scope, budget, and schedule
• Coordinate with sales and estimating to confirm scope and labor needs
• Manage project budgets and cost-to-complete forecasts
• Plan schedules and allocate field resources to minimize client disruption
• Oversee purchasing, procurement, logistics, and subcontractor coordination
• Document changes, prepare submittals, and ensure timely billing
• Maintain project documentation and communicate with stakeholders
• Uphold safety and quality standards on all sites
• Identify and mitigate risks to protect profitability
