Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Senior Mechanical Quality Engineer to drive quality across mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems for semiconductor test platforms. You will partner with design, NPI, and supply chain teams to ensure robust product quality from development through production while improving design processes and reducing defects.

You will lead quality initiatives, develop and maintain design standards, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet manufacturability requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or MS with relevant experience).
• 5–8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, quality engineering, or product development.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical design fundamentals.
• Experience with DFM/DFA principles and design verification testing.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis methods (8D, 5 Whys, A3) and CAPA processes.
• Experience working in cross‑functional product development environments.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality initiatives across mechanical subsystems, focusing on design robustness and defect reduction.
• Develop and maintain standards for design processes, documentation, and verification testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, NPI, and suppliers to ensure quality and manufacturability requirements are met.
• Build and execute design verification plans, including fixture development and validation testing.
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions to improve product performance and reliability.
• Support continuous improvement through training, process refinement, and lessons learned.
