Job summary

Teradyne in North Reading, MA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Quality Engineer to drive quality across mechanical and electro‑mechanical subsystems for semiconductor test platforms. You will partner with design, NPI, and supply chain teams to ensure robust quality from development through production.

The role leads design verification plans, performs fixture development and testing, drives RCA and CAPA, and supports continuous improvement through process refinement and lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master’s with relevant experience.
• 5–8 years of mechanical/quality/product development experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical design fundamentals.
• Experience with DFM/DFA and design verification testing.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis methods (8D, 5 Whys, A3) and CAPA.
• Experience working in cross-functional product development environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality initiatives across mechanical subsystems focusing on design robustness and defect reduction.
• Develop and maintain design-process standards, documentation, and verification testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, NPI, and suppliers to meet quality and manufacturability requirements.
• Build and execute design verification plans, including fixture development and validation testing.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve product performance and reliability.
• Support continuous improvement through training, process refinement, and lessons learned.
