Job summary

Teradyne seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and develop next-generation System Level Test platforms. You will work on automated electro-mechanical systems, translating complex requirements into manufacturable designs and collaborating with global teams to enable scalable production.

You will contribute to mechanical assemblies, tolerancing, and precision mechanisms, with extensive SolidWorks usage and ERP/MRP experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years in machine design.
• Ability to independently design, analyze, and test medium-complexity electro-mechanical systems.
• Deep expertise in design fundamentals including tolerancing, precision alignment, actuators, bearings, sensors, drawings.
• High proficiency in SolidWorks; experience with PDM, ERP/MRP, enterprise engineering systems.
• Proven capability to communicate design intent to customers and cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented engineer with strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated industrial equipment for SLT applications.
• Translate requirements into clear system architectures and tradeoffs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Applications, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and global engineering teams.
• Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies including structures, cables, PCBAs, and precision mechanisms.
• Drive solutions that support robotic test head manipulation, docking/clamping systems, and standardized interfaces.
• Engage with suppliers and manufacturing partners to deliver cost-effective, scalable designs.
