Job summary

State Public Works Division in Las Vegas seeks a licensed Mechanical Engineer to serve as Project Manager 2, overseeing a diverse portfolio of capital improvement construction projects for Nevada state facilities.

You will develop scopes and budgets, negotiate and administer A/E contracts, review plans and estimates, and coordinate bid documents with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires PE licensure in NV within 12 months of appointment.
• Three years of professional mechanical engineering experience involving major construction projects and capital improvement programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of capital improvement and construction projects from planning through completion.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical criteria.
• Review and approve consultant mechanical plans, specs, and cost estimates for compliance.
• Provide limited mechanical design services for in-house projects when needed.
• Negotiate and administer A/E contracts and coordinate bid documents with regulatory agencies.
• Oversee bidding, bid openings, and award recommendations; administer construction contracts and change orders.
