Job summary

The State Public Works Division (SPWD) in Carson City seeks a licensed Mechanical Engineer Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of capital improvement construction projects. You will manage scopes, budgets, contracts, bidding, and site oversight, ensuring code compliance and project success.

Responsibilities include coordinating with regulatory agencies, reviewing design documents, and providing in-house mechanical design services when needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed mechanical engineer required at appointment; Nevada licensure within 12 months if licensed elsewhere.
• 3 years of professional mechanical engineering experience on major construction projects and capital improvement programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of capital improvement and construction projects from planning through completion.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical criteria.
• Review and approve consultant-prepared mechanical plans, specs, cost estimates and contract docs for codes and requirements.
• Provide limited mechanical design services for in-house projects when needed.
