Job summary

CMTA, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical to lead the design of mechanical systems for a range of projects, from small to large, with hands-on involvement and client-facing responsibilities.

The role emphasizes leading projects, applying energy-efficient designs, and ensuring compliance with codes. A Bachelor's in Engineering is required, with PE preferred, and 5–9 years of mechanical system design experience expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering is required; PE licensure preferred.
• 5–9 years of experience in mechanical system design; field experience required.
• Working knowledge of building codes and mechanical engineering standards; AutoCAD and REVIT proficient.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and apply standard design engineering techniques on a variety of projects including buildings and facilities.
• Select and specify equipment for residential buildings with heat pumps, VRF/VRV, and PTAC systems.
• Assist in basis-of-design descriptions and client responses; incorporate changes using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform design load calculations and mechanical system design.
• Design energy-efficient systems, perform COMCheck, and support LEED documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
