Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design of high‑performance HVAC and building systems across education, healthcare and government sectors. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers and clients to deliver innovative, energy‑efficient solutions from concept through construction while mentoring junior staff.

The role emphasizes code compliance, LEED/Green Globes sustainability, and performance contracting projects delivering measurable energy savings.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems.
• PE license.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, IES VE, Navisworks and Office.
• Experience in K-12, higher education, healthcare or public sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept through construction.
• Develop energy‑efficient solutions that exceed client expectations.
• Oversee projects from start to finish, including site visits and construction support.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and owners to define goals and resolve challenges.
• Review technical documents and submittals for code compliance and design integrity.
• Guide and mentor junior staff with leadership and best practices.
• Support performance contracting projects delivering measurable energy savings.
