Job summary

Farnsworth Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer – HVAC/Building Systems to lead multi-project mechanical design for healthcare, commercial, industrial, government and educational facilities. You will guide HVAC and building systems design from concept through construction administration with a focus on coordination, quality, and client service.

Responsibilities include leading design from concept to construction documents, developing HVAC, plumbing, hydronic and piping

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• 8–12+ years of progressive mechanical engineering and building systems design.
• PE license required.
• Experience leading mechanical design on building systems projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, ventilation and related systems.
• Ability to coordinate multiple project priorities and communicate with clients and teams.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with HVAC tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for building systems projects from concept through construction documents.
• Develop HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, controls and specialty piping designs.
• Coordinate work with architects, structural and electrical engineers and contractors.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, narratives, and specifications.
• Apply codes and industry practices throughout design and documentation.
• Provide field support through site observations and construction administration activities.
• Help manage technical quality, schedules, budgets, and multi-project coordination.
• Mentor junior staff and provide QA/QC guidance.
