Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer – HVAC/Building Systems in Springfield, IL.

You will lead multi-project efforts for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and specialty piping, guiding design from concept through construction administration with emphasis on coordination, quality, and client service. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, 8–12+ years of relevant experience, PE licensure, and proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• PE license required and 8–12+ years of experience in mechanical building systems.
• Experience leading building systems projects and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for building systems projects from concept through construction documents.
• Develop HVAC, plumbing, controls and specialty piping system designs.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and contractors to produce integrated documents.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, narratives, and specifications.
• Provide field support, QA/QC, and project coordination across multiple assignments.
