Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer – HVAC/Building Systems in Illinois.

You will lead multi-project mechanical design for healthcare, commercial, and educational facilities, guiding from concept through construction administration with emphasis on coordination, technical quality, and client service. Qualifications include a PE license, 8–12+ years of experience, and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• PE license required.
• 8–12+ years of progressive mechanical/building systems design experience.
• Experience leading mechanical design on building systems projects.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office; familiarity with HVAC analysis tools is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for building systems from concept through construction documents and construction support.
• Develop HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, controls and specialty piping system designs.
• Coordinate work with architects, engineers, contractors and other consultants to deliver integrated documents.
• Prepare and review calculations, equipment selections, drawings, narratives, and specifications.
• Provide field support through site observations and construction administration activities.
• Manage technical quality, schedules, budgets, and coordination across multiple projects.
• Mentor junior staff and provide QA/QC guidance.
